Blue Spruce Habitat for Humanity is providing a secure means of supporting the urgent needs for Ukrainian refugees fleeing the war. Many are traveling into Romania, where Habitat Romania team members are doing all they can to provide life-saving support. Your generous support is greatly appreciated.
Svetlana ran away from the war with her daughter-in-law, Tania, and her two grandchildren (Cristina, 9 and Artiom, 4). They traveled through the Ukrainian cities of Nikolaiev and Odessa before reaching Romania.
Svetlana said their village, Krup'yans'ke (Pasat), has been so badly affected by the Russian attacks that it is almost gone. She showed us videos and photos received from those who remained in the village. In the images, home after home is destroyed by bombing.
Her son remained in Ukraine, and they keep in touch with him via phone.
Svetlana and her family want to go to Germany, where her daughter lives.
